About

Lunix

Lunix was founded by Simeon Dijksma in 2026 with a simple goal: to build software on my own terms, while creating a company that allows me to support myself.

I first got into software development at around 13, when I discovered HTML through a few online tutorials. What started as curiosity quickly became something I genuinely loved. Over the years, I moved from experimenting with websites to building web applications, dashboards, deployment tools, and other software.

Lunix started as another personal project, but eventually I realized that I could turn it into something more. Today, Lunix focuses on custom websites, web applications, web dashboards, and maintenance for the software we build.

We primarily work with small businesses and startups, offering custom development without the price or distance that often comes with larger agencies.

Built with you, not for you

The name Lunix comes from my fondness for Linux, with one important change: the “U” and “I” are swapped.

U + I.

Because a project should be built together.

I work closely with every client throughout the development process. I don't believe in taking a client's detailed idea and turning it into the same corporate, minimalist website that everyone else has. If you have a specific vision, I want to build that vision.

That also means that if you want something I personally don't like, I'll still build it for you. I'll give my opinion when it's useful, but the final decision belongs to the person I'm building for.

Human-made by choice

Lunix is deliberately anti-AI.

No AI is used to create our websites or software, and Lunix will not develop AI-related products. Every line of code and every design decision is made by a human.

That isn't because we think AI is incapable of producing software. It's because we believe there is value in knowing exactly who made what you're using, and in taking responsibility for the work ourselves.

Every Lunix website is 100% human-made.

Quality over shortcuts

Lunix cares about every part of a project, but accessibility, design, security, and performance are especially important to us.

We also refuse to compromise on code quality.

“If you come back to a piece of code a year later and have no idea what it does, it wasn't good enough in the first place.”

At the same time, software doesn't need to be complicated just because it can be.

Things should be only as complex as necessary.

Whether a project needs a simple solution or something significantly more involved, the goal is the same: build the right thing, properly.

Small by design

Lunix is currently a one-person company, and that's intentional.

I'd rather keep Lunix small, personal, and focused on quality than grow into a large agency where projects become detached from the people actually building them.

In the future, I would like to work alongside a small number of developers who share the same mindset.

For now, every project receives my direct attention from start to finish.

Lunix may be young, but we're serious about what we build.

Small company. Personal development. No shortcuts.
